Songs from the Abyss

My interactions with Anjum Salman Hussain (a.k.a ‘Appiya’ by her family, friends and anyone who knows her) started two years ago initially with gestures of greeting to each other. Gradually along with just the greeting we started talking about life, politics and her work with Civil Defense. Sometimes we also talked and discussed about the history of India and its people. I am quite inspired; by her outlook on life and her ways of dealing with its complexities. Interacting with her has definitely helped me improve my knowledge and has changed my perspective towards life.

सुबह की धूप का उगना कविता है तो साँझ को सूरज का ढ़लना भी एक कविता है।होली के गीत गाना कविता हो जाता है तो दीवाली के दीपों का प्रज्वलन कविता की सुंदर बानगी है। कविता के अनेक रंग हैए अनेक रूप हैं और अनेक मायने हैं। कविता कभी जीवन का लिबास हो जाती है तो कभी नदी के प्राकृतिक रूप में ढल कर अपने होने का एहसास करा जाती है।दरअसल जिस भी भाव में संवेदना है वह कविता सरीखी हो जाती है। इस कविता संग्रह ढाई आखर के रचनाकार एक नवोदित मगर एक समर्पित भाव के कवि हैं। वे मूलतः छंदों में लिखते हैं। उनके छंद फेसबुक पर फेसबुक के अनेक साहित्यिक समूहों पर धूम मचाते पढ़े जा सकते हैं। संभवतः ऐसा कोई भी रनिंग ग्रुप नहीं होगा जिसमें उनके छंदों का पदार्पण न हुआ हो। बलबीर सिंह वर्मा फेसबुक के कई ग्रुप के चहेते रचनाकार हैं और उनके छंद विभिन्न प्रतियोगिताओं में शताधिक अवार्ड सम्मान पुरस्कार प्रशंसा पत्र सांत्वना पत्र ग्रहण कर चुके हैं और उनकी यह काव्य यात्रा निरंतर बढ़.चढ़कर जारी है।
