Many surgical procedures have been developed to restore more favorable anatomy for prosthesis support. They include vestibuloplasty, Vestibuloplasty with skin or mucosal grafting; and augmentation with bone grafting procedures. These procedures offered short-term improvement to denture stability and retention; however none showed long-term clinical success.
